The Buxton Library @ PVCC serves the college community and the public by supporting learning through relevant resources and engaging learners through excellence in diverse programs and instruction accessible to all students, patrons, staff, and faculty. In addition, the Buxton Library strives to provide a space that's aesthetically, intellectually, and technologically supportive for 21st-century learning.
Community Borrowers are members of the public who want to check out library materials from the Buxton Library @ PVCC. Community Borrowers may check out up to five (5) items at one time. Checkout of non-book items, such as DVDs, is limited to three (3) items per patron. In addition, non-book items have a variable checkout time, and some non-book items are for Library Use Only. For more information, see the Loan periods and borrowing guidelines common to all Maricopa Community Colleges.
Returning Materials: All library materials can be returned directly to the Buxton library or one of our two (2) book drops. These additional book drops are located 1.) in front of the A building, 2.) in the E-building hallway, east side library entrance. Please do not place media items (DVDs, chargers, etc.) in the outside Book Drops. Instead, return them directly to the library circulation desk.
Overdue Notices: An e-mail account will be generated when you get your ID card and will be used to notify you of overdue items. Failure to receive an overdue notice, for whatever reason, does not remove your responsibility for meeting the due date or paying subsequent fees. Please be courteous and return your library materials on time so others may enjoy them.
Reserve Materials: Many instructors place items, such as books, videos, and other formats on RESERVE in the Library. These reserve items are intended for student and faculty use ONLY. Unless otherwise designated, most reserve items are non-circulating.
