Annual Mancini Science Symposium Collection of Papers: Home

Dr. Hank Mancini started the Annual Science Symposium in 1995. This annual symposium has grown to include papers from Physics, Engineering, Astronomy, Chemistry, Biology, and Math.

Annual Mancini Science Symposium

The Annual Science Symposium was first held in May 1995, created by Dr. Hank Mancini.  It presented an opportunity for our Science students to perform a literature research on a scientific topic of their choosing and then presenting to their peers, faculty, staff, administrators, and the community.  Due to the increased number of participants as the years went by, a limited number of students was chosen to present.  However, all submitted papers have been published.

Dr. Mancini retired in 2012.  Dr. Paul Dale, PVCC President, did not want this event to end with Dr. Mancini’s retirement.  The Annual Science Symposium was renamed the Annual Mancini Science Symposium, and it is now well into its third decade.

There were nine Organic Chemistry research papers published in the 1st Annual Science Symposium.  This annual symposium has since grown to include papers from Physics, Engineering, Astronomy, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.  In addition, students from South Mountain Community College and Phoenix College have participated.  The publication has evolved into a record number of 105 papers in May 2017.

Research papers from 2013 to the most recent year are accessible online here.  As Science instructors and faculty advisors for these students, we thank and congratulate all participants for their effort, courage, and dedication.  By participating, these individuals perpetuate this event annually.  PVCC is proud and honored to present the work of these individuals.
