This post provides a roundup of free anti-racism webinars on-demand, as well as a few resources for people of color such as racial wound healing and therapy/funds dedicated to POC, and many recommended anti-racism books, articles, toolkits, YouTube videos, movies/TV shows, podcasts and self-care resources for all.

The UNC-CH Center for European Studies is committed to countering racism and violence at home, in Europe, and across the world. As an educational organization, we manifest our commitment by broadening the visibility of resources to learn about the history of structural racism and anti-Black violence, settler colonialism, colonial legacies, anti-immigrant policies. These topics include the intersections of racism, homophobia, transphobia, and gender. To this end, we are compiling a list of resources on these topics.

Social work has a complex history of upholding White supremacy alongside a goal to achieve racial justice. Moreover, our profession simultaneously practices within racist systems and works to dismantle them. In the wake of a fervent #BlackLivesMatter movement and persistent racial disparities in key social welfare institutions, these paradoxes have come to the forefront of discussion in academic and practice circles. This unique moment presents an opportunity to interrogate our profession’s relationship to White supremacy and racial justice in order to reimagine an anti-racist future.

People of African descent experience widespread racism and discrimination across the EU and in all areas of life, including employment, education, policing, and the criminal justice system. Recognising and addressing Afrophobia as a specific form of racism that affects people of African descent and Black Europeans is essential to ensure their inclusion in Europe.

The 10 to 12 million Roma people in Europe are denied basic human rights and victims of widespread discrimination, racist attacks and hate speech. Structural and institutional racism against Roma, known as Antigypsyism, is a root cause of their exclusion across Europe. Tackling structural racism and dispelling prejudices are essential to ensure Roma can become equal citizens in European societies.

Antisemitism is still a reality for many European Jews, who increasingly experience insults, discrimination, harassment, attacks against properties and physical violence. Antisemitism must be combatted to ensure well-being, security and equality of outcome of Jews in Europe.

Discrimination is a major obstacle for ethnic and religious minorities and migrants in Europe. Employment is the main path to social inclusion and ethnic and religious minorities must therefore have the possibility to fully participate in the labor market.

Muslims or those perceived to be Muslim suffer from discrimination, stigmatisation and exclusion in all areas of life such as employment, education, vocational training, services and political participation, but also from racist violence and speech, especially on the internet. Islamophobia is a specific form of racism that must be tackled.

Migrants in the European Union face human rights violations and discrimination as well as xenophobic violence which is fuelled by hate speech. The fight against racism has become a top priority in the current migration and integration debate.

Every day ethnic and religious minorities face racist crime and violence across the EU. They are not targeted randomly by perpetrators, but simply because of who they are or perceived as. Racist crimes must be recorded, reported, investigated, prosecuted, and result in criminal sanctions.

To assist in the endeavor of becoming anti-racist, this post provides some steps we can all take to help break the cycle of racism and violence, and a round-up of various anti-AAPI racism resources to help us become better informed about our AAPI communities. These include resources especially for individuals experiencing Anti-Asian/American harassment, as well as webinars, books, articles, anti-racism guides/toolkits, videos, podcasts, and worthwhile organizations to support.

As an affiliate of NAEYC and a partner with many local early childhood organizations, AzAEYC is committed to embrace diversity and inclusion as strengths, uphold fundamental principles of fairness and justice, and work to dismantle structural inequities that limit equitable learning opportunities. This requires individuals, organizations, and the community to be courageous. It means we must work to be actively anti-racist.

The goal of the Anti-Racism Committee is to dismantle racism within the Diocese of Arizona with the ultimate goal of becoming a Beloved Community.

Each April we join our sister associations from across the country to Stand Against Racism. As a safe space to hold conversations on race, equity, and inclusion, Stand Against Racism provides a place for us to unite our voices to educate, advocate, and promote racial justice. For Stand Against Racism 2021, we will explore Racism as a Public Health Crisis.
