IPL -- Arts and Humanities -- History
ipl2 is a public service organization and a learning/teaching environment. In January 2010, the website "ipl2: information you can trust" was launched, merging the collections of resources from the Internet Public Library (IPL) and the Librarians' Internet Index (LII) websites. The site is hosted by Drexel University's College of Information Science & Technology, and a consortium of colleges and universities with programs in information science are involved in developing and maintaining it.
National History Education Clearinghouse
Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, the National History Education Clearinghouse is designed to help history teachers access resources and materials to improve U.S. history education in the classroom.

History Professional Associations

American Historical Association
The American Historical Association was founded in 1884 and incorporated by Congress in 1889 to serve the broad field of history. It encompasses every historical period and geographical area and serves professional historians in all areas of employment.
Organization of American Historians
The Organization of American Historians is the largest learned society devoted to the study of American history. Since its founding in 1907 as the Mississippi Valley Historical Association, the OAH has promoted the study and teaching of the American past through its many activities.

Open Access Textbooks

Digital History—An Online American History Textbook: An interactive, multimedia history of the United States from the Revolution to the present. This website was designed and developed to support the teaching of American History in K-12 schools and colleges and is supported by the Department of History and the College of Education at the University of Houston.
