Activism:

Activism takes many forms and ranges from signing a petition to standing in solidarity against the opposition.  Activism also takes a healthy dose of civil discourse/discussion and communication because what you might argue at the top of your lungs, someone may argue against at the top of their lungs--in a civil society, we allow both arguments.

Student Movement - FORCE

One grassroots movement currently spreading across college campuses is FORCE: Upsetting Rape Culture--a creative activist collaboration to upset the culture of rape and promote a culture of consent.

The focus of FORCE stems from the belief that a more difficult and honest conversation needs to happen in America to face the realities of sexual violence, and they envision a world where sex is empowering and pleasurable rather than coercive and violent. To promote this needed conversation, FORCE creates art actions to generate media attention and get millions of people talking. According the Huffington Post, “FORCE is doing a good job with a hard to digest topic, capturing the public imagination with their tactics."
