The Drug Policy Alliance Network (DPA Network) calls itself "the nation's leading organization promoting policy alternatives to the drug war that are grounded in science, compassion, health and human rights." Includes information by state, by type of drug, and by other topics, including health, legal, and other issues.

According to this website, "The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia University is the only nation-wide organization that brings together under one roof all the professional disciplines needed to study and combat abuse of all substances – alcohol, nicotine as well as illegal, prescription and performance enhancing drugs – in all sectors of society."

Established in 1972, NCJRS is a federally funded resource offering justice and substance abuse information to support research, policy, and program development worldwide. NCJRS services and resources are available to anyone interested in crime, victim assistance, and public safety including policymakers, practitioners, researchers, educators, community leaders, and the general public.

NIAAA conducts and supports research; collaborates with other research institutes and Federal Programs on alcohol-related issues; collaborates with international, national, state, and local institutions, organizations, agencies, and programs engaged in alcohol-related work; and disseminates research findings to health care providers, researchers, policymakers, and the public.

This deparment of the National Institutes of Health provides "strategic support and conduct of research across a broad range of disciplines. ... ensuring the rapid and effective dissemination and use of the results of that research to significantly improve prevention, treatment and policy as it relates to drug abuse and addiction."

The principal purpose of ONDCP is to establish policies, priorities, and objectives for the Nation's drug control program. The goals of the program are to reduce illicit drug use, manufacturing, and trafficking, drug-related crime and violence, and drug-related health consequences.
