CRW150 - Introduction to Creative Writing

PVCC's Creative Writing department provides courses, workshops and special events in various creative writing genres, such as poetry, fiction and creative non-fiction. The department encourages students and writers of all levels of experience to focus on their own creative process as well as their finished creative writing product.

The Associate in Arts (AA), Emphasis in English (Creative Writing) program is designed to prepare students for transfer to a university bachelor`s degree program. It also provides them with access to a community of writers and creative writing activities, instruction and guidance from established authors, and ongoing support in improving their writing skills and marketing their work. The program offers classes, workshops, and other activities such as readings and contests, which are accessible to writers of all levels regardless of academic or professional standing. The program aims to serve a diverse community who may be underrepresented in traditional creative writing programs.

I think all aspiring and professional writers out there will agree when I say that ‘We are never fully satisfied with our work. We always feel that we can do better and that our best piece is yet to be written’. I also believe that there is at least one quote that gets you and is fitting to how you feel at any moment in life.
