The intent of this assignment is to refine your skills at identifying policy issues that are current, and relevant to social work.
Use the current week’s news via the New York Times (follow instructions in Canvas for how to
access this online) to find a news story that is about a POLICY ISSUE. See News Sources tab below!
Look for keywords like (Bill, Policy, Legislature, Congress) or even ISSUES that we know are related to policy issues (Medicaid, medicare, healthcare, immigration, poverty, housing, climate).
Remember, not all of the articles with hot topics are about policy, so do read it to see if it is a good fit.
