Borrowing Beyond Buxton Library
MCCCD students, faculty, and staff in good standing may request books and other print resources from local, regional, and national library collections. Please note: some IDL and ILL requests may not be filled due to owning library restrictions.
Intradistrict Loan (IDL)
IDL allows you to borrow materials from other MCCCD Libraries. Please refer to the Maricopa Libraries Borrowing Guidelines.
- Use the library system to request items (Place Request) from other MCCCD libraries.
- Or call the Circulation Desk at 602‑787‑7200 for assistance.
- Plan on 5–7 working days for materials to transfer between libraries.
Notifications:
- 📧 1st email notification to your Maricopa student email + courtesy call (ensure your phone number is current).
- 📧 2nd email notification when you have 3 days left before the item reaches its 10‑day hold limit and is returned.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
ILL allows MCCCD libraries to request materials from other library systems. Please refer to the Maricopa Libraries Borrowing Guidelines.
- Use ILLiad to request books and articles not held by MCCCD libraries.
- Requests are verified by library staff. Partial or incorrect citations may result in cancellation.
- Textbooks are not available through ILL.
- Allow 2–4 weeks for fulfillment.
- Lending libraries may impose service or photocopying fees.
- Items not picked up within 7 days are returned to the lending library; requestors remain responsible for charges.
- If items are not returned, you will be charged the replacement cost.
